Introducing pilots

Introducing pilots is about getting to know member pilots. On this page pilots can introduce themselves. In this way you have an idea with whom you could deal with when you subscribe to this site. Perhaps future employers will visit this page, too.

Many guys know from young age that they want to be a pilot ; a young boys dream. In contrast to them in those days I did not know what I wanted to be. When I was approximately 28 years of age it seemed nice to me to learn flying and it was possible financially. I obtained my PPL (private pilots licence) with flying club Seppe in 1994. I liked flying that much I would rather do it every day; eventually I obtained my CPL/IR (commercial pilots licence) in 2000 and my multi engine rating in 2003.
In my case, the road to achieve this required a strong perseverance, making choices, carrying consequences, conquering (financial) barriers and a strong support from my partner.

Since 2001 I am a general-aviation pilot mainly in summer season. I have conducted ferry flights, round trips, banner towing flights, para flights and photo flights.

Besides, I am a member of flying club Avia Noord based at Eelde. Airport Eelde has instrument procedures which you can practise very well with the PH-AEC a Piper Archer which is fully equipped for instrument flight. Every flight via this site I intend to conduct at least partially under IFR.

Employability for pilots is very bad already for a long time (at least 5 to 10 years). Many companies demand thousands of hours (preferably jet hours and a type rating). For many pilots this is far beyond reach.
To deal with this dilemma I took the initiative for this website. This website has the objective to let pilots obtain flying hours in a payable way in order to maintain validity of their licences. At intervals updates will be made to this site to adjust and introduce items.

Welcome aboard!

  • Home airfield: Seppe (near Breda, the Netherlands)
  • # flying hours: 170
  • Licence: PPL

Since I was 3 and I got aware of aeroplanes and I was so impressed that I would like to become a pilot, like it is a dream for so many of us. My love for flying never ept away.

In October 1994 I started my flying lessons at Air Service Limburg on Maastricht Airport. I passed for my PPL and flew for 3 years, until I moved to Eindhoven for my University studies. I became member of EAcM club stationed at airport Eindhoven. Since March 2004 my home basis is Seppe (nearby Breda), where I have a lot of fun. The pictures show the field where I am flying. Besides you might be interested in some pictures of 1 of my flights.......

  • Born: 1965
  • Home Airfield: Ljungbyhed, Sweden
  • # flying hours: 250
  • Licence: PPL + night qualification

I am Tom Liber, a Dutch national living in Helsingborg located the South of Sweden. Our airport is located in Ljungbyhed (ESTL) and near a nature reservate. Nearby airports are Ängelholm, Malmö ,Landkrona and of course Copenhagen.

We have access to 3 foursits planes, of the piper PA28 type and Diamondstar DA40. Take a look by surfing to the website of Ljungbyhed aeroclub.

In our sister club "the aeronautical society of Ljungbyhed" we also have access to a SK50 Saab safir from 1952 and a 1958 Vampire haviland J28C2 .

I have a PPL with night qualification but can if necessary arrange a IFR pilot for you incase of bad weather. If you are looking for just a round trip or a flight abroad or in Sweden , do not hesitate to contact me. Normal price for 1 hour flying is about 95 Euro’s including landingfees and fuel(within Sweden) for other countries landingfees are additional. For the Haviland Vampire the hourly rate is about 1450 Euros but it is possible to fly for 20 or 30 minutes only.

Would you like to come just for visiting the south of Sweden. Close to the airport there is a Golf course, horse riding , outdoor activities and of course the sea.

Regards, Tom Liber

  • Home airfield: Lelystad
  • # flying hours: 240
  • Licence: PPL

My name is Erwin Steen and I live in Huizen. Since 2001 I own a PPL (private pilot's licence) and I fly Cessna 150 (2 person aircraft), Cessna 172 (4 person aircraft) and the Katana dv20. I fly with Wings over holland and Polder Aviation (both located at Lelystad airport).

Why fly.... no idea, I only know that this is an almost uncontrollable addiction which is on one's mind every day. I would tell potential clients: realize what you are up to.

Peter Tanis
  • Name: Peter Tanis
  • Born: 1959
  • Home airports: Lelystad and Rotterdam
  • # flying hours: 540
  • Licence: PPL

I am Peter Tanis and usually I fly from Lelystad with a Diamond DA40 and sometimes from Rotterdam with a Cessna 172, both single engine 4-person aircraft.
When I was a little child flying has fascinated me and during my HTS-study (technical study) I took flying lessons with a study friend from an acquaintance of ours.
After my studies I got my PPL licence and my flying experience is now up to 540 hours.

Many friends, acquaintances, colleagues and family members have joined me at my flights and it's getting harder to find passengers to share costs. To me it seems fantastic to show and carry new passengers my enthousiasm by inviting them for a flying trip via MeetAPilot.
The more I can fly the better it is for me. Mostly I enjoy cross country flights, so that I can make an extra take-off and landing. Variation of circumstances make every landing unique.

Also challenging experiences seem to me:

  • IFR- (instrument-)
  • VFR- (day-) and IFR- (night-)flying
  • Simulator flights
  • Twin engine instruction flights

I look forward to let passengers experience the nice thing of flying. See you!

  • Name: Robbie van Brummelen
  • Born: 1979
  • Home airfield: Hilversum
  • # flying hours: 270
  • Licence: CPL/IR MEP MCC

Hello, my name is Robbie van Brummelen, 26 years of age.

I wanted to be a pilot from young age, preferably the F 16 fighter. But this was impossible because of my length. That's why I did my training for a civil aviation pilot with Rob van den Sigtenhorst at Teuge airfield (EHTE) what's called Stella Aviation Academy nowadays. I completed my training for Cpl, Se-ifr, Me-ifr and Mcc. Theory at ATPL level I completed at the KLM Flight Academy because that was arranged through my school (Stella Aviation Academy).

These were two very beautiful years of flying and now I am searching for a job as a pilot and in my spare time I fly small aircraft from Hilversum (EHHV) and Teuge (EHTE). I prefer Hilversum because this is a “green” field and that's adding a special dimension.

For me flying is a sense of freedom, very addictive and nowhere to compare with. Almost everyone has been on a holiday using a large aircraft but seeing your own back yard at only 1500 feet height is something different.

I can write a lot here about flying but the best is to experience it yourselves, of course.

Kind regards,

Robbie

Born Christmas Day 1964 - nice present eh? 100 hours, flying R22's and R44's Started flying as I crashed my racecar and couldn't walk properly, was told that "if you think racing cars is dangerous, you should try flying helicopters", so I did...

I fly from southend airport and more specifically from Direct Helicopters/The Flight Centre based at Southend

Recently we've flown over Heathrow at 800ft which is a great privelege extended to helicopters
